Tobermory Holiday House Reviews from Back Brae Lodge Guests

 “Thank you so much
for allowing us to use Back Brae Lodge for a lovely family holiday. We had a great time and the weather was kind to us. The cottage is comfortable, well located and everything we could need was provided.”
EA & RA - Inverclyde, Scotland - September 2015

“Wow - what a beautiful, cosy, homely and relaxing cottage.
We have had a lovely few days here. We loved the Isle of Mull for a short break - now prefer it to Skye where we have stayed for the past three years. Thank you for everything.”
RD - England - August 2015

 “We’ve really enjoyed our stay
at Back Brae Lodge. Thank you so much! The lodge is lovely and very well equipped with everything you might need, and more. I think Mull is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. Thank you once again.”
VB - London, England - August 2015

 “Very nice stay
- walks book a great idea. Generally everything was very good. House well apoointed and laid out, and pretty well everything we needed here. Location very convenient.”
AM & TM - Edinburgh, Scotland - August 2015

“We had a great stay at Back Brae Lodge
- thank you. The flat was extremely well equipped, with excellent information for both the flat and the surrounding area. We completed and enjoyed many of the walks from the file. We never used the landline to call out but gave it to family to contact us - they needed to, which was reassuring. The books, games and DVDs were great too for the very wet days. On the whole we were out and about making the most of what Mull has to offer.”
KM & GM - Southport, England - August 2015

 “We’ve had a great stay
(despite the weather) and I'd like to thank you for the use of your house, which has been ideal. We have been very comfortable here. Thanks again, and I hope we'll be able to stay here next time.”
RF - Peebles, Scotland - August 2015

 “Nothing to improve
- just a big THANKS!”
AH & BS - Hamburg, Germany - July 2015

 “Thank you very much
for your excellent and beautifully clean accommodation. We have enjoyed our stay here and would come again. Back Brae Lodge is very well appointed - lovely and comfortable, warm, quiet accommodation. ”
KS & RW - Dunbartonshire, Scotland - July 2015

“We very much enjoyed our stay.
The apartment is fabulous - very clean, tidy and as described. The selection of DVDs, books etc was very much appreciated on wet afternoons, and the guidance provided on walks and other activities was immensely helpful when the rain stopped. We recommend Back Brae Lodge wholeheartedly. Thank you!”
IF & CF - Glasgow, Scotland - July 2015

“We have had a wonderful time.
Thanks so much for everything. How time flies when you're having fun! We loved the location - so quiet and tucked away but so handy for everything - and the spaciousness - we danced in the back room! We also loved the fast enough WiFi and big TV with satellite channels, and lots of plug sockets everywhere. All the gadgets worked well too. The bed was comfy and the shower was nice. We loved the space downstairs to take off muddy boots and jackets and stuff. The drying rack was great. We appreciated the whisky miniatures and welcome tray and also dishwasher and washing machine supplies. It was helpful to have such clear instructions everywhere too. We loved staying here and hope to be back! Thanks again for being so accessible and for all your help.”

Mull & Tobermory Restaurant & Activity Reviews

“I loved Tobermory and the whole of Mull.
Stepping out early morning and having a walk around the harbour, picking up some rolls and being close to get shopping and food was great. The local fish shop is a must! I bought local salmon and scallops and they were beautiful. I took the bus from Tobermory to Fionnphort, to get the ferry to Iona, and it was a beautiful drive and really enjoyed the scenery, more relaxing than driving. I also did a trip with Staffa Tours to the Treshnish Isles and Staffa, and had a fantastic day. This was made even more enjoyable by Paul and Ross who answered endless questions and gave lots of information. If I came back I would do this trip again! I went on a drive to Dervaig as well. The scenery everywhere is beautiful and I can understand why people return. Although I am not a big walker or sporty I really enjoyed just being there.”
MC - Broughty Ferry, Scotland - April 2012

“We thought the array of shops and eateries in Tobermory were excellent.
The Fish and Chip van on the harbour supplied a tasty meal for us on our first night, and Café Fish (which we booked the night before) provided an outstandingly good meal on the Saturday evening; we would warmly recommend both. The Tobermory Chocolatier and the Deli on Main Street won top marks for snacks. The kids (teenagers) voted our trips to Iona and Calgary beach as highlights of their stay, and we also had a good night out at the Mull Theatre just a mile or two up the road.”
BA - Perth, Scotland - April 2012

“Tobermory is very pretty and we just enjoyed walking around the island.
Would recommend the walk to Aros Park in particular, and we walked to Calgary Bay via the Bellachroy Hotel for lunch which was good. The Tobermory Distillery tour was also good and the Isle of Mull cheese farm shop. We ate in Cafe Fish two nights and it was absolutely delicious. Would also recommend the fresh rolls in the bakery - it's the only place you can buy bottles of Mull ale as well.”
KG - Edinburgh, Scotland - March 2012

“We are big foodies and find the Mishnish restaurant ‘5 Star’.
I would recommend that to anyone.”
JW - Aberdeen, Scotland - January 2012

“It would be fair to say we knew we were visiting in a period beyond ‘off-season’
and more like 'close season'. We were therefore very pleasantly surprised to find most places still open and we enjoyed eating out. If I was to recommend one place, I would insist every visitor tries to get a table at Cafe Fish. Food, atmosphere, staff - all perfect.”
BD - Argyll, Scotland - November 2011

“We went to Café Fish twice it was so good.
Mull is fantastic.”
FW & CW - North Yorks, England - September 2011

“Particularly enjoyed a great film in the An Tobar Arts Centre
on the Tobermory Otter - delightful - and eating in the Golden Dragon Thai on the harbour, and from the Les Routiers Chippy! Perhaps our favourite drive was the scenic road down to Iona, going along Loch na Keal at about 8am at slackwater in the morning sun and paddling on the shell beach at northeast Iona with a view of Staffa.”
JP & JP - Birmingham, England - September 2011

 “Being familiar with Tobermory
we knew what to expect of the Mishnish Hotel and McGochan's, but I think it's worth pointing out the excellent value for money for food at the MacDonald Arms. We had dinner at the Galleon Grill and were really impressed both with the food and the atmosphere. The other surprise was Am Birlinn at Penmore, Dervaig, which was excellent.”
AB & JB - Lanark, Scotland - September 2011

 “We only cooked breakfast
as the choice to eat out in Tobermory is great. There are plenty of local walks to do, plus the whole island is easily accessible to explore. We booked a wildlife trip with Arthur and Pam Brown and this was fantastic.”
PO & PO - Milton Keynes, England - August 2011

“We loved Cafe Fish opposite the RNLI
on the end of the quay, and would give them a strong recommendation to your other guests - but you must book as it is not very big.”
