Tobermory Holiday House Reviews from Back Brae Lodge Guests

“Just wanted to say thank you
for the rental of your property Back Brae Lodge, Tobermory. Lovely warm and clean and great for local activities.”
SM - Fife, Scotland - December 2014

“Thank you for the beautiful cottage we stayed in
whilst visiting Tobermory. It was absolutely perfect, I really don't think you could change a thing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Back Brae Lodge and look forward to having another trip there in the future.”
HO - Lancashire, England - December 2014

“We had a fantastic time at Back Brae Lodge,
very much appreciated. It was beautifully clean and warm when we arrived, plenty of bedding, the notes/instructions were great, the kitchen very well equipped and it's altogether a wonderfully spacious, cheery, easy place to stay. All three of us would be keen to stay at Back Brae Lodge again.”
GC - London, England - November 2014

 “We had a wonderful time,
the house was amazing, there is nothing I can tell you to improve it as it was perfect. Happy to recommend the house to future guests. Thank you again and all the best.”
MF - Dumfries, Scotland - October 2014

“We had a great few days
made even better with the sunshine that decided to shine for the whole three days. Mull now gearing up for the rally! Your house was ideal for our stay, it had everything we needed and was very cosy and warm, there was plenty of hot water, had a well equipped kitchen and in a great position. Thank you for the welcome basket and the soaps... much appreciated. We hope to visit again in the future and will certainly recommend Back Brae Lodge to our friends.”
JB & RB - Fife, Scotland - October 2014

“We absolutely loved Mull, Tobermory and your place.
Everything was spot on. The only thing is, you don't give yourself enough credit, I would advertise more the extra stuff you provide (tea, coffee, salt, pepper) and also the guides and maps. And we got quite lucky with the weather, mostly dry and sunny. We would definitely stay with you again. ”
JM - Glasgow, Scotland - October 2014

 “The cottage suited our needs,
very clean and tidy and loads of useful cooking utensils.”
AA & CA - Northamptonshire, England - September 2014

“Our stay in Back Brae Lodge was just perfect.
The lodge was immaculate when we arrived, the position off the road is amazing, just right on the doorstep of everything and is a little gem of a property (you lucky lucky person, wish it was mine). Everything was there that was required, in fact more than enough, towels etc in ample supply, a excellently equipped kitchen. Plenty of hot water. We found the dryer an absolute godsend as we could wash and dry our walking gear for the next day. Fantastic having wooden floors as so easy to keep clean. Our dogs loved the downstairs area and lay there most of the time, when we were in. Parking in Tobermory is easy and even if you have to leave your car in the Ledaig car park, the walk back to the Lodge is gorgeous. Lodge perfect in every way, I most certainly will be back and would recommend it to my friends and family.”

Mull & Tobermory Restaurant & Activity Reviews

“Our highlights were probably on our boat trip to Staffa and Lunga.
We didn't realise that puffins were so tame! We also had a fantastic day on Calgary beach, the white sand is amazing. We were also very impressed with Aros Park - had some lovely walks through the forest and the views from the pier over to Tobermory Bay were really spectacular. Last but certainly not least we have to mention the Mishnish bar, it's an institution - loved it! ”
NM - Edinburgh, Scotland - May 2010

“We escaped in to Cafe Fish or the pub
which gave us a friendly, comfortable welcome. We also browsed at the beautiful trinkets, gifts and silver found in the local shops. Travelling up to Tobermory after disembarking the ferry on Mull was beautiful - definitely great picture opportunities so don't forget a camera!”
MS & TS - Newcastle Upon Tyne, England - November 2009

“We did several walks and saw several otters
(not Elvis as he hasn't been seen recently), golden eagles and a distant white-tailed eagle, so we were very excited about that. We made good use of the many guides in the house, for wildlife and generally touring Mull. Unfortunately in November most of the tourist places are closed but we used the guides for interesting local information and the wildlife is year-round. Tobermory has all the shops needed for a self-catering stay. Next time I'll have to stay a full week to complete the Tobermory jigsaw!”
LH - Callander, Scotland - November 2009

“We would like to recommend a trip that we found
highlighted in one of the maps found in the house. We went from Fishnish on the ferry to Lochaline, toured Ardnamurchan, visited the lighthouse at the Point and then caught the Kilchoan ferry back to Tobermory. Great! We also went over to Iona. Our holiday ended with a whale watching trip where we saw sea eagles, seals and much more. Very enjoyable.”
BH - Birmingham, England - September 2009

“We had a lovely meal at Café Fish
and at the Indian too, and great pizza at the place above MacGochan's bar on the other side of the harbour (it is closed Monday and Tuesday), and great sandwiches from the Bakery - also went to a very nice café at Glengorm Castle.”
RB - Lancashire, England - September 2009

 “Our stay was very enjoyable,
the highlight being seeing an otter in Tobermory!”
SL & RB - Lancashire, England - September 2009

“Iona was a big highlight for us from the historical point of view
and the fantastic beach on the north side. We had a couple of lovely dinners in Café Fish and I also saw and photographed the otter! As a photography nut I found that there were so many stunning views and potential images in the scenery around Mull that I was spoilt for choice. We also sampled Mull cheese, visited Tobermory Chocolate, and I've brought back some of the heather soap from the Isle Of Mull Soap Company so that I can relive my holiday each time I smell it.”
CM - East Lothian, Scotland - September 2009

“An Tobar Arts Centre was very interesting for us, as harp-playing-fans.
We took the Lighthouse walk, and a walk through the Aros Park. We have been impressed by that overwhelming nature.”
JM - Weil am Rhein, Germany - September 2009

“There is a nice tea shop on Ulva
which does very special-looking lunches, and is trying to get a 'small restaurant of the year' award. It is a beautiful island to walk on.”
DW - Nottingham, England - August 2009

 “We went to Iona,
and pony riding on the beach at Killiechronan, which was wonderful.”
